HOW to Get Ostomy Supplies

The Ostomy Support Group of North San Diego County (OSGNSDC) is committed to helping uninsured San Diego area and Baja California residents secure ostomy supplies

through our Ostomy Supply Closets.

This ostomy supply closet is made possible by

the time and care of dedicated non-medical volunteers and community donations.

----

Ostomy supply brands, sizes, styles, and quantities are subject to availability.

----

We are a volunteer-run community outreach organization and do not have an office, storefront, building, or paid staff.

A Completed Request Form is Required

Questions & Answers

How do I get my ostomy supplies?

After you complete and submit the Request Form, one of our volunteers will contact you within 3-5 days.

Only a contact phone number or email is required

Why do I need to complete a form?

  • One size does not fit all people or all ostomies. It's crucial you receive ostomy supplies that you can actually use :)

  • The request form helps our volunteers process, pick, and pack the volume of requests that come in each month.

  • You will need to submit a new form for each month you request supplies.

Why does it take 3-5 days for someone to contact me?

  • Our ostomy supply closet is run by a small handful of dedicated volunteers.

  • Our volunteers process a volume of requests each month.

  • Please be patient with us, we're volunteers trying to help :)

How many ostomy supplies can I get, and how often can I get them?

  • You may receive 30 days' worth of ostomy supplies per month.

  • You may receive ostomy supplies once per month as long as you need :)

  • A new form should be submitted for each month you request supplies

Why do I need to pick up my supplies?

  • Due to the volume of ostomy supply requests and our limited number of volunteers, we cannot deliver or mail supplies.

  • The Ostomy Support Group of San Diego does not have an office, storefront, building, or any paid staff

I need my supplies NOW!

We are unable to accommodate emergencies. To get supplies fast, you can order ostomy supplies through Amazon. Amazon offers brand-name ostomy products (Coloplast, Convatec, Hollister) and an affordable generic (Carbou).  Coloplast also has a direct-to-consumer online store. Can I get medical help with my ostomy?

As a community-based, non-medical volunteer organization, we cannot provide medical care or advice.

Kindness Required :)

Being kind to our volunteers is required to receive supplies. We reserve the right to deny services to anyone who is unkind or makes our volunteers feel unsafe.

A $25 tax-deductible donation is suggested for ostomy supplies. (NOT REQUIRED)

These donations help cover storage facility costs for our Supply Closet.

Please be patient with us.
